Fresh off the tree

I went for a run today in Tempe, AZ since i got to my hotel three hours before my class started.  i thought it was a great way to get familiar with my new surroundings.  I went up to ASU and ran around the campus a bit.  The campus is really beautiful and i was surprised to see so many bikes up on campus.  It seemed like half the students had a bike.  I passed an orange tree and saw some on the ground and decided that would be the best snack for the afternoon.  I carried it around with me while I ran for about a mile and then it sat nicely in my backpack until I decided it was the right time to dig in.  When the hotel checking girl saw it she warned me that this might me an ornamental orange with not a great flavor.  That was deflating but I still had high hopes.  Well during a break in my class I starting pealing the orange and it started mushing  in my hands.  There was not much form as I tried to break off a piece.  I took one bite and quickly disposed the rest in the garbage.  Why would you plant an orange tree just for looks?  That just seems ridiculous.  Luckily the rest of my day hasn't been as disappointing.
My plane ride was safe and I got to know my airplane neighbor a bit.  I almost got the courage to give him a pass a long card.  It just didn't feel right so I kept it with me.  I did talk to him a little about my religion so that was cool.
I'm here for a music therapy conference and I'm learning about child developmental music therapy.  I really am happy with class today.  I totally relate to everything they have been teaching and I can see many ways I can do things different to benefit my preschool music therapy group and play with me group.  I'm really tired so I will call it a night.
