Got sick

Wrote this 2/16/2013 but never published

I'm trying this for the first time while in bed with my ipad.  I have really enjoyed having an iPad
And maybe even more now.  I've had a crazy couple weeks.  Last week I started getting sick I believe from the foreboding of a very busy week.  When we were planning for the week, we discussed that we had two activities we were helping with to feed the ward.  The blue and gold banquet, I cooked six batches of chili for Navaho tacos.  The rest of the ingredients I just bought and had some other leaders chop and prepare.  That day I had everything ready but I had lessons for the kids in wells like and nibley.  Well I had left a little early from lessons to be sure to get home on time.  This is when I realized I had bee driving on empty and I ran out of gas.  Lucky for us we were in front of a great friends house.  I borrowed her car to fill up there gas can, she watched my kids and we filled up the car from the can.  That is harder then I thought it would be.   Then we went straight to the gas station and filled completely up and I've sworn to keep a half tank in at all times.

Fresh off the tree

I went for a run today in Tempe, AZ since i got to my hotel three hours before my class started.  i thought it was a great way to get familiar with my new surroundings.  I went up to ASU and ran around the campus a bit.  The campus is really beautiful and i was surprised to see so many bikes up on campus.  It seemed like half the students had a bike.  I passed an orange tree and saw some on the ground and decided that would be the best snack for the afternoon.  I carried it around with me while I ran for about a mile and then it sat nicely in my backpack until I decided it was the right time to dig in.  When the hotel checking girl saw it she warned me that this might me an ornamental orange with not a great flavor.  That was deflating but I still had high hopes.  Well during a break in my class I starting pealing the orange and it started mushing  in my hands.  There was not much form as I tried to break off a piece.  I took one bite and quickly disposed the rest in the garbage.  Why would you plant an orange tree just for looks?  That just seems ridiculous.  Luckily the rest of my day hasn't been as disappointing.
My plane ride was safe and I got to know my airplane neighbor a bit.  I almost got the courage to give him a pass a long card.  It just didn't feel right so I kept it with me.  I did talk to him a little about my religion so that was cool.
I'm here for a music therapy conference and I'm learning about child developmental music therapy.  I really am happy with class today.  I totally relate to everything they have been teaching and I can see many ways I can do things different to benefit my preschool music therapy group and play with me group.  I'm really tired so I will call it a night.

It's a Cold Day!

We have been freezing here but we are blessed to have a warm house to come to.  Some of the problems we have encountered is we are getting milk delivered only once a week so we get 8 half gallons of milk on Mondays. This does not fit in our fridge so we bought a fridge to go out in the garage.  It's been so cold that the fridge outside is still freezing our milk.  I'm wondering if it's because it's so cold or if we don't have enough things in the fridge.  Any suggestions?
We had to get a bowl that plugs in for Badge the cat because her water wouldn't stay thawed and we got her a light to stay under at night.  She loves it!
Our front screen door is constantly ice or frosted up.  Ok I'm getting cold from thinking of it all.  Regardless of that we are all happy and healthy here.  The kids are doing well in school.  I'm feeling really good about my preschool students and Play with me Class and Devin is busy as ever at work and looking forward to a day off tomorrow for the holiday.
My brother is moving back to Utah today!  My mom went for a week to spend with them to get them ready to move back.  I'm excited for them to be closer and pray he will find a good job soon!  I am conducting the stake choir and our first rehearsal is tonight so I have to run but just wanted to give you a quick update on our family.  We love you all!
